The Author
Ian McNulty is a freelance journalist and radio personality. In addition to A Season of Night, he is the author of Louisiana Rambles, a travel narrative exploring America’s Cajun and Creole heartland in south Louisiana.
Raised in Rhode Island, he moved to New Orleans in 1999 for what he thought would be a brief dalliance. The city sank its teeth early, however, and he has lived there ever since.
He is a columnist for the alt weekly Gambit and New Orleans Magazine and a weekly contributor to WWNO, the New Orleans NPR affiliate. He is the recipient of several New Orleans journalism awards and he has received a proclamation of appreciation from the Rhode Island State Legislature for his writing about small town life in that state.
He lives in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, where things are much better now than during the time portrayed in this book.
